Sylvia del Real
Sylvia del Real is a 2013 graduate of Bob Jones University where she earned her Bachelor of Music in String Pedagogy.
Sylvia studied violin under Dianne Pinner while at BJU. She also interned as a private violin teacher, classroom assistant, and orchestra assistant for the BJU elementary and junior high schools.
Sylvia performed with the BJU Symphony Orchestra for four years. She also participated in the university's orchestra tour, soundtrack and CD recordings, two national award-winning opera productions, chamber music recitals, and solo recitals. She studied composition under Dr. Seth Custer and Dr. Dan Forrest. She premiered her first works in 2012 at the New Music Concert in Calumet, MI and in 2013 at BJU in SC.
While in high school, Sylvia fiddled with a bluegrass band and competed in the 2006 KSMU Youth in Bluegrass Contest in Branson, MO. The band, Unspeakable Joy, performed in the Wisconsin/Upper Peninsula area. Sylvia has played regularly for weddings, benefit concerts, recitals, businesses, parades, and county fairs.
Sylvia currently lives in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. When not practicing, Sylvia loves to write and arrange music, explore the outdoors, read, and bake cookies for her husband.
